Testimonials

Extracts from some of the many kind emails I have received after the funerals I’ve conducted.

I would just like to say Thank you for a lovely service on Thursday for my Dad, lots of people said how lovely it was as it was so personal. Thank you again for all your help and lovely words.

I attended Jill’s funeral yesterday and I would like to thank you for the most wonderful ceremony. It was a very sad day for all of her friends, but Jill would have loved that send-off. It was full of joy, empathy and humour. So Thank You once again.

It meant a lot to have your quietly concerned air of dignity to bring the service together which we all felt went very well and we said ‘farewell to June’ with the right mix of formality; emotion and fun – which we hope she would have wanted.

Quite a few people remarked that it was the best service that they had attended. Whilst not wanting to assist in ranking these things I’d say I know what they meant and would agree. So thank you and best wishes.

Thank you for making mum’s funeral such a memorable occasion, everyone there agreed that you spoke of mum as if you knew her.

Thank you so much for sending me the script for Michael’s funeral. You conducted the service so well and all the words that described Michael’s life were so well written and narrated by you. He would have appreciated the way the service was conducted. On behalf of Nigel and myself thank you very much.

Just wanted to say thank you for the lovely service today. Your words were perfect and provided a fitting send off to Rene.

The day couldn’t have gone any better and so many of the guest approached me to say what a wonderful service you conducted. It certainly struck a chord with the guests, many of whom were pleasantly surprised to find out aspects of Dad’s life that hadn’t been known previously.

Thank you so much! You did an absolutely wonderful job and all my friends are saying that your voice and manner was excellent. The script was perfect. I’d like to read it to my son so thank you very much for your thoughtful email.

On behalf of my family and myself, l want to thank you for the wonderful job you did on Tuesday.
My mother said the ceremony was perfect and that Ken couldn’t have asked for a better send off. ..Thank you for helping us turn a difficult day into an uplifting celebration of Ken’s life.

Thank you so much again, and that’s perfect – it’s like you knew him yourself!! I hope you know how much comfort it gives to us to have someone speak about him like that.

Thank you so very much for all that you did for my Father’s funeral. All things considered it went very well and everyone liked your eulogy. In fact a couple of people who had travelled from abroad said that your presence and the way you conducted the funeral had inspired them to think about their own funerals being Humanist and would like them to be conducted by a Celebrant like yourself. Once again Maria thank you for making a very hard day more bearable and for capturing all essences of Paul’s life in your speech.

I have been wanting to drop you a quick line just to say thank you so much for everything you did for Ashley’s funeral. So many people have contacted me not just to say how much they enjoyed the day (though they add that they aren’t sure whether they were supposed to enjoy it, and were glad when I told them that it was the right response) but also to say how wonderful you were.
And I agree with them, the “service” was a joyous celebration of Ashley and his life. As I think I may have said I believe funerals are for the living not for those who have gone… but I reckon Ash would have enjoyed it and if he’d been watching from the door to the next room he would have approved.

Thanks for such a beautiful reading yesterday, everyone thought it had so much more feeling and emotion than a religious service and it felt it was being read by someone who knew her. Even Florence (who is a proper church going christian) wants a Humanist Celebrant at her funeral. Thanks again for giving such a black day so much colour.

Thank you so much for being the celebrant for Ruth’s cremation service. Your professional presentation with the inclusion of so much thoughtful detail provided a wonderful review of her remarkable life.

Just to say thanks for the wonderful service yesterday. i spoke to most of the attendees during the course of the afternoon and they were all impressed. Jake and I are very grateful for all you did.

Just a small note to thank you for your service on Friday. The service was exactly how my Dad would have liked it and my family are delighted at how well you conducted the ceremony. We have had so many texts calls and emails to say that my dad had a great send-off and many of the congregation were Roman Catholic so were anxious at the service my dad was having, but afterwards could not praise enough how personal it was.Wishing you well for the future and I will recommend you to any friends that are in the unfortunate position of arranging a funeral.
